Educational Scholarships are available for graduating seniors. Each scholarship has different criteria which is set up by the donor. *
Habitat Building Hope Scholarship - $1,500 for students in Southern Brazoria County who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning and $750 for a student seeking a diploma or certification from an approved trade or technical school.
Qualifiers: 1) Applicant must be a legal resident of the State of Texas and must have lived for the past six (6) months in a Habitat for Humanity home in Southern Brazoria County. 2) Applicant must have a parent, stepparent, or guardian who is a Habitat for Humanity homeowner in Southern Brazoria County. See student counselor for additional eligibility and requirements.
Lila H. and Hunter W. Henry, Jr. Scholarship - $1,000 for one student from Angleton High School and one student chosen by the Brazoria County Fair Association from anywhere in the county who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
John Magee Choral Scholarship - $1,000 for one student from Brazoswood High School and one student from Brazosport High School who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
Robert and Nancy Merchant Scholarship - $1,000 for one student from Franklin High School in Franklin, Texas who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
Qualifiers: Must be majoring in agriculture or a related field. See student counselor for additional eligibility and requirements.
Charles Wilson Scholarship - $5,000 ($625/semester) for one female student and one male student from Brazosport High School who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
Barbara Franklin Scholarship - up to $1,000 for one student from any Brazoria County High School to attend Brazosport College or Alvin Community College.
Norman and Sue Wood Scholarship- up to $1,000 for one student from Brazosport, Brazoswood, Brazosport Christian, or Foundation Preparatory Academy High School.
Qualifiers: Must be seeking a Health Care or Trade School Vocation. See student counselor for additional eligibility and requirements.
Violeta America Rosales Maldonado Scholarship - $1000 for one Hispanic High School Graduating Senior from a Brazoria County High School who will be attending an accredited institution of higher learning.
Qualifiers: 1) Must be a Hispanic High School Senior. 2) Must be pursuing a degree in International Affairs, Journalism, Communications, or Writing. See student counselor for additional eligibility and requirements.
All scholarships are paid directly to the institution of higher learning after proof of acceptance is received.
